ACTION PLAN!

The leaders of the church have been working on an 'Action Plan' which lays out the priorities for the work of the church in the next couple of years. Reading back through old Action Plans shows that these are not just bits of paper but have helped to give much needed direction. We want now to consult you on this draft. Please email or phone or speak to your contact Deacon. We may have missed something glaring or, you might have ideas regarding the key questions about 'How' and 'Who'??

Inclusive Community

  • To promote the work of Geoff Hill and the Pastoral Care Team e.g.the pastoral care course in the autumn at Limbrick Wood
  • To continue to promote cell groups as places of nurture, care and support
  • To make our church more 'man' friendly
  • To Integrate our young people more into the life of the church.. Representative to come to church meeting
  • To further address the needs of those with disabilities and special needs
Sacrificial Community
  • To have some consistency of offerings so that we can budget for the future.
  • To promote cell groups
  • To raise the money we still need for the redevelopment
  • To discern what good things we need to lay down in order to do better things especially during the redevelopment
  • To promote the reading and understanding of the bible
  • Seekers … To improve pastoral care, develop our work with teenagers, consider new syllabus
  • To encourage regular attendance on a Sunday morning
Prophetic Community

To host and promote the AfCT (Action for Cheylesmore Team). David Hope our campaigns co-ordinator will keep Christian Aid’s campaigning work on the agenda of the church. To encourage those with the gift of prophecy to use it within the church.

Worshipping community
  • To create a culture where people can worship as they want to
  • To give more space for the 'Holy Spirit' to move among us
  • To work out how the job of 'Musical Director' can be done in the future as Judy Hill stands down
  • To devise a pattern of worship which will 'work' when the place is a building site and seekers are meeting elsewhere
  • To raise the 'Spiritual' temperature of the church
  • To make the links between worship and life
  • To work towards a more participatory and spontaneous approach to worship by offering opportunities to tell stories, bring a scripture, exercise prophetic gifts etc
